Hi ruklaw,
the most recent version of Pinky Plug is outdated (not working with pluggo 3.6.x and max 4.6.x).
Because I'm studying I didn't find the time to update Pinky Plug in the last couple of weeks.
But guess what? Today my semester break started and I soon will work on it.

My (opensource) tool of choice for direct song access on a mac is called
iPodDisk
It mounts your iPod as a virtual disk and you can find all your mp3s in the subfolders "Albums", "Artists", "Genres" and "Playlists". Like it should be. You're even able to use spotlight!

Maxi-Patch for intel macs may arrive soon, I guess.
Cycling74 just released (23 June 2006) a beta version of max/msp/jitter with universal-binary support! (Maxi-Patch is based on this)

To be honest, it wasn't Pinky Pluggo that crashed Live 4 but an early development version of Pinky Plug that was based on Maxi Patch. The dropdown menus (the one for options, the one for vinyl_generation and the one for vinyl_mode) caused those crashes. I replaced em with check boxes and radiobutton...

The reason why I started developing Pinky Plug is simple: at that time Pinky Pluggo wasn't around and I wanted such a thing. I havn't tried the latest version of Pinky Pluggo, so I can't really compare. These 2 plugins are quite similar. Pinky Pluggo: - the Pinky Pitch feature is enabled - look and ...

I think I read about a plugin that could do exactly that at http://www.kvraudio.com. Not quite sure though. You may search their database.
this is maybe also something for you.

I use BPM Inspector for iTunes . OS X only. It's for manual tapping and it writes the bpm information to the id3 tag. In iTunes you can enable the bpm column and sort your playlists by bpm if you'd like. (drag and drop from iTunes to pinky plug works quite nice btw.) I won't add auto-bpm recognition...

pinky plug - scratch up your host (i.e. sequencer)
Hi, pinky plug finally made it to the Windows platform! I tested it with Plogue Bidule 0.91, Abletons Live 5, Logic 5.5 and Cubase SX 2. successfully :D only one issue yet: When you switch from the browser-view to another view, some graphical artefacts occure and you have to press the desired view b...

hi guys, sorry for being silent for such a long time, I thought email notification was turned on on my post. It wasn't... Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the password I use to http authenticate into mspinky.com/download is not working as far as opening up this dmg file goes. Now there are two dmg...

pinky plug (at the moment OS X only)
hi, I also felt the need for such a plugin some month ago and started coding back then... but there was a "not so friendly to install the file-browser" issue (that couldn't be solved from my side) witch hold me back to release it for the public. Even thought I havn't changed it for two months I deci...

that would be superb! auto-detection would be even a tiny little bit sweeter... But only if it's a no-puzzler on your side!! I'm working on a Pluggo-Plugin for Miss Pinky and use the Plugin Parameters that every host supplies for storing the filepath (after conversion into some numbers). That way th...

btw. the mentioned filebrowser is available at http://www.cycling74.com/share/topher/ . I already got a reply from Peter Castine in the maxmsp-list: Code that accesses the file system using system calls from before HFS+ are limited to 31-char file names. HFS+ "mangles" longer names to a unique 31-ch...

MPTCFS~ only accepts a truncated filepath
hi, I use Topher LaFata's new filebrowser as well as the 'Drop Region for Files' to get the file I wanna scratch with MPTCFS~. But if the whole filepath is too long these two gives me different results: filebrowser: "OSX:/Users/sam/data/res/audio/cat not copied/beautiful/Boomclick - High Tide (Origi...
