Alright, nice one pinkstah. This is definatley alot more useable than before, but why the wierd secret file thing? I might be missing something but don't vsts use the 'chunk' to save metadata like that. That way, saving presets/banks or just saving the project saves the filename just like any of the...

Pinky pluggo file memory
Ok, I figure I can wait for the drag and drop and ableton browser thing, but can we at least get a little update thats stores the filename and play state with the song/project. I mean, I want to load an ableton song and kick it off and start scratching without having to mess with the fiddly file bro...

I know that theoretically this is bad but hey.... it works
Just to scrath an itch I tried plugging my turntable straight into the line in on my powerbook and grounded it to the mixer. Fired up Ableton and put a utility plug before the pinky pluggo to raise the level. I have to be honest, there was probably a really high error metric but for all intensive pu...

Yes. Big fan of Ableton + Pinky for both scratching, and for mixing my own Live tracks into Vinyl. The pinky pluggo instances load very quickly and the setup is much more versatile and stable vs Maxi patch. Excellent news on the file browser as that was my only gripe. That and can we please include ...

If you have new vinyl and you can get your sound card down to below 5ms latency (I have mine set to 2) I dont see much difference between pinky and real vinyl (especially if you have sampled you audio from vinyl). As you would know the most intricate part of scratching is done on the mixer which is ...

Wow.. well done. Loading an instance of the pinky plugin takes about 3 seconds compared to loading big fat ugly maxipatch which takes almost 30 (including its splach screens & changing its UI color scheme 4 times every startup) on my machine! No longer do I have to shut down ableton live and load ma...

This guy reckons he's whipped up a vst version of pinky but can't seem to get hold of him.
P.S I can live without waveform displays.

What i want to do is 1. Record some scratching into logic. 2. Scratch with pinky while ableton live is running beats ect. My main issue is with running 2 asio apps at once under xp, if maxipatch even loads at all, its unstable, crashes my system hlaf the time or causes the ASIO system to screw up, o...

IWS VST plugin
I read in this interview with Scott Wardlethat there will be a VST version of ms pinky in the future. Since the code for demodulating and decoding the position information is written in C++, it's generic enough to be ported to almost any operating system, and any software system as well that accepts...

Yes it does, and I could just patch it thru to the output direct but it's too messy and takes too long. I've spent a long time making the mouse redundant in my live setup with midi controllers ect. (hence ms Pinky) . I want to be able to just flick between phono and line on my mixer for instant sati...

Well Maxipatch has an audio thru function too but I can't always have Maxipatch open when I play live. Most of the time I'm running ableton live and the decks are just set up normally for real vinyl but I'd like to have the option to spin up some mp3's from time to time without having to swap wires ...

Any drawbacks?
I've been investigating this myself and just have a couple of questions. 1. Does using a splitter cable weaken the signal from the turntable when it's plugged into the mixer and the preamp at the same time? 2. Does it matter to have the ground wire connected to the mixer and the preamp at the same t...

Midi
Midi control of the eq on/off buttons! It's awesome having the cutoff and q hooked up to midi controller but it totally sucks live if you have to use the damn mouse to turn it on and off. Kinda takes the spontaneity out of it. Just curious, is this program likely to be updated at all any time in the...
