Good freeware software for creating videos
Hi, It's all about freeware and open source with me lately :) Does anyone know any good software for creating animations? Or a converter to convert to .mov format for maxi-patch? I was thinking of making some simple movies with text and logos, and i could control effects with maxi-patch. Any suggest...

Hi, I did some C++ in college and I'm currently working as a junior Java developer. Do you think it should be easy enough for me to make the changes for now or would it be quite a long involved process to learn everything? Using Ms Pinky as a plug-in device, is that using pinky pluggo? I still haven...

Is it easy to customise the VST?
Hi, I'm not sure of the process for feature requests with Ms Pinky, is posting on this forum enough? Is it easy enough to customize the Ms Pinky VST my self and is there any documentation on it? If there is a possibility for a feature request, or you need more details to help me here is what I'm loo...

Hi, I would like to end this post on a positive note. Unfortunately the Maxi-Patch isn't as stable as the VST on my current set up. However I'm very happy using the VST and it's working perfectly for me (no crashes since using the wall wart and 256 I/O latency setting). Thanks Ms Pinky, I'm gaining ...

Hi, Tested out some of your suggestions, the "wall wart" has seemed to have helped quite a bit. Also using 256 and 256 for the latency and vector size seems to be the most stable on my system. I have my usb directly into the pc, no hub or other devices connected. The USB connection on the conectiv i...

Please explain I/O Vector Size and Signal Vector Size
What Is I/O Vector Size and Signal Vector Size? And what are good values to use? From what I see I/O Vector Size gets set to the Latency setting of my Conectiv sound card. In the settings panel for the latency it explains that a lower value is better and more accurate. Is this the same for the signa...

Yeah I know... I just thought that would be the correct way of doing it in Ms Pinky as it has the audio thru option. I had tried the other way as well. I've found that Maxi Patch crashes if: - I try play a record by using audio thru - Play record with turning the dials on the connectiv - If I stop u...

Quick way to get those error metric levels down is to adjust the weight on the tone arm to the stylus specifications. This worked for me just last night where my error metric was around 4 - 6 and more sometimes. How I adjust my stylus: Get the arm to balance off the vinyl with out help of your hand ...

Further inspection of Maxi-Patch and testing I found "Batch Waveform Calculation". This did the trick for getting a waveform for most files. But I've encountered another problem where some files won't play even if I do encode with iTunes. I get the following error in the Max Runtime Screen: 02 You S...

What's the best converter to use?
I recently purchased Ms Pinky, and only some waveforms of Mp3s show up in the Maxi Patch. The VST seems to pick up more of them. Is this a bug in Maxi Patch or know issue that only certain conversions will create a wave form? I haven't messed around between the two as much to compare exact differenc...

I would love to be able to afford a Mac but at the moment I have to stick with my current laptop. Also another option was to go the linux root. I had ubuntu studio before and it was really difficult to configure the sound card or to get anything working it always took a lot of googling and try and e...
