Get a U46DJ
First of all, I would highly recommend that you upgrade your PowerBook to Tiger OSX 10.4.2. Second, get rid of your Maya 44 USB. Sell it on eBay or whatever. Buy a U46DJ soundcard because it accepts direct turntable connections and is much better in terms of quality. If you do both of these things y...

Try the 30-Day Free Trial version of Max/MSP
This could be a bug in the Audio I/O portion of Max/MSP. Please download and install the 30-day Free Trial version of Max/MSP from cycling74.com. You can also download the Ms Pinky Max/MSP patches and external objects for Max/MSP. Try using Max/MSP with the U46DJ and see if you get the same problem....

Ouch!!
I'm personally quite distressed to hear about the problems you're having, SDM, and I apologize for all the inconvenience and hardship this is obviously causing. Without having a concrete answer for you right at the moment, I can only say that of all the machines I tested Ms Pinky on with the U46DJ, ...

Pluggo Pluggo, save me!!
Actually Yes. Pluggo SHOULD solve this problem, and very easily at that. Unfortunately, some important parts of Maxi-Patch_AO/AV (like the waveform display) which would need to be included as part of the VST plugin are based on Max/MSP javascript, which doesn't seem to work quite right inside a "Plu...

Touchª, baby!
Touchª, baby! I can see I'm up against the wall on this issue  But I just have to ask you a couple questions: 1) What OS are you running? I ask because if you're using OSX it's a simple matter to re-route the audio output from Ms Pinky into another program's audio input (for example Able...

DACS, Ltd.
If you're in England, get Ms Pinky here:
http://www.dacs-audio.com/
Of course, you can also order from us (here in the US) through the website, but it will take a little longer to arrive..

Should work fine
Well, I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work. I've certainly done single-turntable demonstrations plenty of times using the built-in audio in/out jacks on my Aluminum Powerbook G4. So putting two of them together, one for each turntable in your typical two-turntable DJ scenario should work ju...

Ms Pinky loves Mac (and Max, too)
Derek- Ms Pinky is very much at home on the Mac platform. So yes, you can definitely use Ms Pinky with your powerbook G4. However, you will also need to purchase an audio converter (ideally one with built-in phono preamps). My recommendation is that you get the U46DJ from Ego Systems. It will allow ...

half 'n half is the bomb
The new half-pink/half-black records are made by a different (and we think better) manufacturer than we've used before. These records are thicker and heavier than our other releases have been and so will last longer. Also the holes are tighter

Yes I can do that.
OK. I understand the problem you're having and I can fix it. But first I want to make sure we all can agree on the solution. Here's what I propose: Because I make heavy use of drop-file regions in my patches, I need to continue to support whatever they output as the default way of handling filenames...

Ms Pinky loves decks with built-in preamps!
Ms Pinky absolutely loves decks with built-in phono preamps. This makes the setup so much easier. If your deck already has phono preamps built-in, you don't need the external ones inserted between turntable and audio converter.

delete all old externals, download the new
Hello Simon- I'd suggest deleting from your machine all the instances of the MPTC~ external that you may have floating around. Sometimes an older version of an external may be found somewhere in Max's search path _before_ it finds the one you *intend* for Max to use. Just to be safe, search your har...

U46DJ with DJDecks and Ms Pinky?
I just got through testing the U46DJ 4-in, 6-out converter with built-in phono preamps using Maxi-Patch_AO/AV 3.5.2 on WinXP Professional. The operation was flawless! I'm really impressed with this hardware. Can it be the answer to Ms Pinky's prayers?? With ASIO buffer size set to 128, the latency w...

I/O Mappings
Mudo- You should also check the "I/O Mappings" under the "Audio Settings". These settings determine how signals from various inputs/outputs of your audio device get routed to input/output channels in Maxi-Patch. It could be that these settings got messed up and so your input signal is not being rout...
