"Secret" Keyboard shortcuts in Maxi-Patch...

Post by dlpinkstah » Wed Nov 09, 2005 8:24 pm

Here are some "secret" keyboard shortcuts in Maxi-Patch:

Hit these keys:

0) The "esc" escape key: This is crucial. It toggles the final output mix between small-screen and full-screen mode. So if you're final output video mix is 320x240, but the dimensions of your projector (as 2nd monitor) are 1280x854, the "esc" key will force your final output video mix to fill the output monitor view perfectly... hitting "esc" again will return to small-screen mode..

1) The "A" key (capital "A"): This forces the video crossfader all the way to the left side.

2) The "B" key (capital "B"): This forces the video crossfader all the way to the right side.

3) The "C" key (capital "C"): This forces the video crossfader to exactly the middle.

4) The "a" key (small "a"): This starts the video crossfader moving gradually towards the left side... transition takes about 2-3 seconds.

5) The "b" key (small "b"): This starts the video crossfader moving towards the right side... transition takes about 2-3 seconds.

6) The "c" key (small "c"): This starts the video crossfader moving towards the middle... transition takes 2-3 seconds.

7) The "m" key (small "m"): This causes the video output mix mode to cycle through all of it's possible settings... cycles once for each time you hit the key.

Hope you like these... they are fun!

if you're just willing to mix, this shortcuts are what you need.

for a more turntablistic use of Ms Pinky, you should consider having a video switch like the pionneer. i've tried it with the DVD scratch player and a pioneer mixer... it's just amazing.

but you should also consider that :

video switch + fast cuts (double click flare/crab/...) = video-epileptic-unviewable-marmelade...

i don't really think it worth it in terms of price / what you can do with it....

some guys were trying to build a midi crossfader to control the video, maibe you should search the posts and ask them...
...happyness is a warm slipmate...
