Ortofon alternative???

Post by sadie8686 » Tue Aug 22, 2006 5:42 pm

I have Ortofon Concordes (nightclub, yellow tips) right now. Do I need the entire Digitrack Kit, or can I get the Digitrack stylus and put them on my Concorde cartridge? Anyways, is there a cheaper alternative than digitrack that works???

Use Shure M44-7s

I personally have a strong preference for Shure M44-7 carts. They grip the vinyl better than anything else out there, and are great for use with Ms Pinky.

Digitraks don't ware out records, right?

Isn't a big reason of getting the Digitrak kit to not ware out your expensive ms pinky records (which I just bought!)?

You can use the Digitracks if you want.... but in my experience the M44-7's are better for Ms Pinky, and they don't wear out the records any faster than other carts.

I have the M44-G's, and they work very nicely with Ms.Pinky.

Plus, the "expensive" Ms.Pinky viny is only about $10 to replace (I think).
