"Audio Thru" making weeee

Post by ikabod » Tue Oct 31, 2006 7:03 pm

Hi,

I know it is a bit annoying seeing my name always asking for silly questions.

Why is it that when I checked (means activate) the "Audio Thru" in the Vinyl control menu of MAXI-PATCH AO during mixing sessions , a strange weee sound comes out Left/Right Channels, but if I unchecked it goes off.
The sound is exactly the same as the CD Control tracks.

Is this normal?

When you activate (select) the "audio thru" option in the little pop-up menus in Maxi-Patch, you're allowing whatever signal is coming in on the audio input channels to pass straight through to the output. So if you've got your turntables (or CD decks) hooked up to Ms Pinky and you're playing the control vinyl (or the control CD) then when you select "audio thru", you will hear the sound of the control signal coming through.

This feature is very useful:

1) If you want to mix a "normal" music record (or CD) in with your set while you're using Ms Pinky.

2) If you need to hear the control signal to verify that it's not getting distorted, that it's not missing a channel, etc....
