So new MaxforLive - will there be a pinky Live device?
Hey,
I don't know if you've heard of the new Max/Msp and ableton coolboration, but MaxforLive was announced at NAMM, which essentially gives the full Max/Msp environment inside Live and allows to make custom Live devices. And you can use existing max/msp objects and code directly in the Ableton Live Max environment.
If I understand correctly that Pinky pluggo was made with Max/Msp, do you foresee an ableton specific pinky version? Who knows, you could even make something that scratches ableton clips! (I think someone something similar with reaktor) . Now that would be cool integrated right in Live!
cheers!
Rob

I posted at Maxmsp Luv forum (because is Max for live not pluggo for live)
xD
Actually is release announced for the 3rd quarter of this year...
Scratch clips and Ammobox are things different but technically it could be possible do the two things (depending of Ableton of course)
I'm truly amazed waiting Serato news. Maybe a new Audio interface (usb 2.0) and any Serato patch?
mmmm...
xD

Well, after reading this, I think it'll pretty much have to be
Pluggo Technology Moves to Max for Live
I'm just hoping we can finally get the double processor issue fixed. With that, I'll be the happiest Pinky user ever.

Here's another article you'll want to read:
http://createdigitalmusic.com/2009/05/1 ... ernatives/
The announcement by DZ will definitely affect Ms Pinky, but hopefully in many more good ways than bad. There will definitely be support for Ms Pinky in the new Max4Live product. And of course, the "Pinky VST" plugin still works with any VST host app, and will continue to work because it is not based on Max/MSP or Pluggo. In actuality, "Pinky VST" has replaced "Pinky Pluggo" as our plugin for DAW's, and Ms Pinky has no more products currently in development that are based on Pluggo. We are in the process of updating this site to reflect that.
I suppose there are some thing's I'll miss about Pluggo (such as it being free) but the capabilities of the new Max4Live will be so much more exciting.
