Pinky VST 2.0: Loop and Cue Points, adjustable display zoom

Post by dlpinkstah » Sat Sep 25, 2010 1:25 am

Pinky VST version 2.0 for OSX and Windoze is ready for all registered users to download.

New features:

1) Loop Points: Pinky VST now supports setting, saving, and restoring up to 16 looped segments per audio file. Located between the two Ms Pinky waveform displays is a 16-segment control which you use to select the current loop slot. After selecting the desired loop slot, hold down Apple-Shift (OSX) or Control-Shift (Windoom) and drag across the portion of the waveform (on either waveform display) that you wish to loop on. Then enable the "loop" check button. Now when the file plays (with or without vinyl control) it should only loop over the selected region of the waveform. Once you've initially specified a loop segment you may refine its boundaries by holding down the Apple (Command) key (OSX) or the Control key (Windoom) and dragging near either edge of the looped segment that is displayed. The loop slot select control is MIDI-mappable. Note that these loop points are currently not tied to loop points created in Ableton's editor.

2) Cue Points: Pinky VST now supports setting, saving, and restoring up to 16 cue points per audio file. Located beneath the bottom waveform display is a 16-segment control for selecting the cue slot. After selecting the cue slot, specify a cue point by holding down the Shift key (OSX or Windoom) and dragging over the waveform display. A red indicator bar shows the currently selected cue point. While still holding down the shift key, release the mouse and the cue point is set. Recall instantly by pressing the numbered cue slot selector (Which is MIDI-mappable, BTW).

3) The waveform zoom factor is now adjustable via a small number box between the two waveform displays.

4) Cue Mode Control: In addition to the previously available relative and absolute control modes, Pinky VST now offers "Cue Mode Control". When this is selected, the file plays under control of the Ms Pinky vinyl or CD control disc, and responds to both the position of the needle (or CD read head) and the forwards/backwards scratching motions of the control disc. In this case, if you move the needle or it skips, the file re-cues to match the new position of the needle. In cue mode, if you’re using cue points to cue the file to specific locations, the control disc position information is automatically adjusted to synch your cue points to whatever the current position of the needle happens to be. Loop points are also automatically wrapped in order to synch with the current vinyl/CD position.

Enjoy!

Hello artemnoize, of course you have to buy the MsPinky package (vinyls plus all the software)!

Hello dlpinkstah,
great news, first and foremost the new Cue Mode Control :)
Will it also be available for "Ms Pinky's (Reformed) Max-For-Live device" ?

regards
Shufflebug
