Pinky VST and Vestax VCI-300

Post by greenlemon » Wed Jan 21, 2015 9:58 pm

So I'm trying to get Ms Pinky set up to play nice with the VCI 300 and so far no luck. The scratching is more like stuttering, with back cueing happening even if the platter is moving only forward and vice versa. As a matter of fact, there seems to be little relationship between the cueing of the jog wheel and the cue marker on the pink record icon.

I've tried adjusting the "Jog Wheel Scale" and have it set to the minimum to avoid really big jumps. I've also tried adjusting the I/O buffer size and have it set to 64 currently.

Is there any magic combo which people are using with midi jog wheels to get decent scratch performance?

Bueller?....Bueller?

Come on, I can't be the only one using jog wheels, can I?

I’ve tested the VST jog wheel scratching extensively with the Vestax Typhoon, but not the VCI-300.

Please get this app:

http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

Please capture a session of the VCI-300 jog wheel just scratching back and forth for a few seconds and email the saved file to me.

Hopefully that will let me see what’s up.

Vci300 is not truly midi...

I'm going to check if I have a copy of mini.translator app and share it to Scott.
Otherwhise some serial/midi log will be welcomed...
