Is the VST "AudioUnit" compatible on OSX?

Post by Dan » Tue Sep 09, 2008 2:03 pm

Some vst plugins seem to be VST, RTAS and Audio Unit compatible. I was wondering is Pinky VST? And if not, any plans to port it to Audio Unit format?

Thanks!

Pinky VST works fine on my Mac, as a VST, if that's what you're asking.

woops! I think I left out a couple of words in my question. meant to ask:

"I was wondering if Pinky is one of those VSTs that is also an AudioUnit?"

but in the mean time i have found out it is not. (well not in logic anyway)

thanks for your response kbooms1w!

You can use the older "Pinky Pluggo" as an Audio Unit. You just have to run the "Audio Unit Scan.app" application which you can get free from cycling74.com. After running it, you should then be able to see "Pinky Pluggo" as one of your available audio units.
