BCD3000 and Mac w. Ms Pinky

Post by Horsebox » Wed Jun 16, 2010 8:10 am

Hi,

Sorry to start a new thread but have not seen any update on this since the BCD3000 was mentioned back in 2008.

Does anybody know if BCD3000 will work on Mac with Ms Pinky and what the latency is like? I'm using 1200MK2 as controllers.

I'm messing around with lots of demo versions and different timecode vinyls atm but am looking to buy Ms Pinky as a less expensive alternative.

Thanks.

If soundcard is supported you must work without issues. I tried with maya44usb, behringer cheaps and so many and it works properly but you must understand how to adjuste her...

Certain touches makes her happy some others makes her shout!

I don't think the BCD3000 will work under OSX. It seems Behringer only supplies drivers for Windoze.

Thanks both of you for your responses.

Mudo - it sounds like a bit of a challenge but worth a try.

Dlpinkstah - my BCD3000 does work on OSX. I think originally Behringer didn't supply the drivers but I bought it 2 months ago and it worked straight out of the box.

Any reason it wouldn't be compatible with Ms Pinky on OSX that you are aware of?

Looks like I might be a guinea pig for this...

Ok. Check the Audio Midi configuration in your mac and make a capture (cmd+shift+3) then upload anywhere and link us.

If Osx recognizes the soundcard and audio could enter inside max runtime (the bones under the Ms. Pinky honey skin) then we try to make her sing!

Interesting. OK-- with the BCD3000 connected to your computer, open "Audio MIDI Setup" utility and see what parameters are listed for the BCD's audio I/O.

What other audio applications have you used the BCD with on OSX?

I've used Traktor LE, Virtual DJ demo and Deckadance demo.

Traktor LE does not support timecode but VDJ and Deckadance do.

Strangely, Behringer online support seem to think the BCD3000 is not compatible with timecode, when it clearly is with VDJ, Deckadance (and apparently Traktor Scratch according to Native Instruments forum).

If it works with control discs with VDJ and Deckadance, then it should work no problem with Ms Pinky.

Thanks, dlpinkstah. I suspected it would but wanted to confirm before I committed.

I'll update on here how I get on.

Thanks to you and Mudo for your help.
