Presonus FirePod => ok !!!!

Post by xuazak » Wed Feb 27, 2008 1:02 pm

Hi mates,

I received that early morning my "Ms Pinky", on the fly connected my desk directly in my Presonus FP10 (FirePod) without preamp, gain knobs on +20dB,
opened ready previous made MaxMSP patch exprected to work with Ms Pinky,
and... That works !!!!

I think it would be better with a RIAA preamp as i need to setup MTPC~ threshold at -15, and smooth at 2 in order not to get noisy values on velocity output... But for my needs that's really nice !

I precise i won't use MsPinky to scratch or as a DJ or VJ, but in MaxMSP to control parameters, events on sound, lights and video modules...

Thank you Ms Pinky !!! Will bring you feedback and images when i have used it live !

As good FW soundcards with integrated preamps are not sold anymore (RME RPM) I was wondering if semi-pro soundcards like RME FF400 or MOTU 828 can work well with their instrument preamps working as phono preamps eliminating another thing in the chain...
