bah help please

Post by atonull » Thu May 29, 2008 11:22 pm

I've tried searching online and asking people but get no results.
Maybe someone here will solve this.. anyway,

1 numark ttx
1 numark dxm mixer
1 presonus firestudio
1 macbook pro leopard

i have 1/4 inch converters for the rcas.
the firestudio looks like this:

electroharmonix.co.jp/presonus/img/fstu_r.jpg

so far i got maxi patch/virtual dj to read the vinyl but a poor signal. I get no signal to the mixer. basically at this point im just lost. how do i route this to work?

thanks,
newb.

This should be an easy setup because the TTX decks have line-level outputs that can directly drive the line-level inputs of the Presonus.

But you still haven't told us how you have all the components hooked up to each other.... specifically which outputs of which component are connected to which inputs of other components?

And what do you see when you open up the "Audio MIDI Setup" utility app?

i flipped the switch on the ttx to line, i plugged the two cables into 1/2 of firestudio. i have 2 cables coming out of output 1/2 on the back going to the mxer. the mixer main outs going to a speaker.

the mixer receives no signal. but the programs read the timecode.

There's probably a control panel app for the Presonus included with its driver software. See if you can open the Presonus' control panel and check all its input/output levels. Also open up the built-in OSX "Audio MIDI Setup" utility app and see what the settings are for the Presonus. It could be that some of the Presonus outputs are turned down, or muted.
