Apple Powerbook G4 667 Mhz | 768 MB Ram | OSX 10.3.4 |
60 GB HD internal | all music runs off external Western Digital 120 GB Firwire HD
I'm currently using a FS Scratch Amp from a friend as the soundcard.
Can run Binky Toy pretty well without too many problems. can't run the fx too heavy.

Apple G4 'Quicksilver' 800mhz, 768mb Ram
Motu 828mkII, 128 samples buffer gives a 35% CPU load.
Meaning: no noticable latency, and very acceptible CPU load, running iTunes in the background for file browsing doesn't even bring the total CPU load over 50%!
If I decide to take MsPinky on the road, I'll get a 1ghz 12" iBook with full Ram, of which I expect similar or better performance.

Both systems run all ms pinky products great! anyone looking for a system fast enough with headroom to spare should look into the athlon 64's. I really can't believe the performance these machines have been getting in the audio/video world!
good luck!

I guess I should also add ms pinky setup also...
both systems will run the maxi-patch audio buffer at 128 @ 44.1k and cpu strain is around 8-14% it's usually hovering around 10-11% there is NEVER any hiccups or clicks in the audio. I'm very pleased!

I'm using an iBook G3 700mhz, edirol fa101 firewire external soundcard, 300gb external hard drive, technics 1210 mk5's, vestax pcv-275, unnamed preamps, evolution 3 octave keyboard with 20 midi knobs and faders. It all runs perfectly as long as i restart if i've been doing other stuff, and i've got a separate user for the msp programs so audio capabilities are excellent. I won't even try using video on this system, but i've got a beast of a PC too, but don't use that for this system, that one's made for counterstrike source!

Hi all, I have a small studio and do mastering and the PC system I use here is :
Intel i7
Seasonic X series PSU
2Gb Ram
ASUS mainboard
4Gb Ram
Samsung 500Gb Spinpoint hard drives.
Windows 7 32bit system works a treat for what I do. Plenty of DSP for audio equalization and audio compression as well. I have some nice audio plugins and I am happy I got an i7 system (it is not the fastest by any means) but it still does the job nicely for the mastering work I do. I use Nuendo and Wavelab.
