Hi, I'm new to Ms. Pinky, but I just got my vinyl today!

From browsing the forum, I know I have to get a U46DJ, and some Shure M44-7s, but what would the most reliable laptop specifications be for playing live? Video card, audio card, CPU, memory, etc.??? I'll be using Neuromixer.

Maybe slightly off topic, but any video projector suggestions?

if you want the best dont get the u46dj get somthing like a RME Multiface or a EMU 1616m :) as for a laptop the best hmmm in single treaded apps the FX60 wins for processing most things, it also wins in multithreaded apps as well so if you want the best look for a laptop with one of the 2gb or more of ram and a nice GPU :) http://www.rockdirect.com/notebooks/xtreme64_cons.htm :) lol expensive but realistly a pentium M 160 with a decend GPU and some ram will be good enough

Hi simonbal,

Thanks for the insight. Unfortunately, I got the news too late and had gotten the U46DJ and it came close to driving me insane. So now it's back to the drawing board... You mention the RME Multiface - is that a better solution than the RME RPM?

The other thing is syncing the audio crossfade with the video crossfade - does this mean getting one of those fancy MIDI DJ mixers, or is there another way?

the ecler is a good midi mixer as far as im away that is the only way at the min, the RME's are both pretter similar they will get hte same latency values, the multiface i prefer because you can add more devices out and in :S,

you oculd perhaps try to make a midi device what reads the movements opticaly :S

I saw the new Pioneer DJM 800 has midi out and a digital out. I hooked the digital out of my Pioneer DJM3000 and Maxi-Patch responded but still no video fade.

Check out this preview of the new Dell M90 (page translated from French)

It has a 512mb nvidia quadro card. And the whole thing is under 7 lbs. That's sorta cool.
