Simulating Vinyl

Post by Naqoyqatsi » Thu Jul 10, 2008 7:07 pm

Hey everyone !

I have got a spinning device that is giving me a signal. I want to use Ms Pinkys externals to load Mp3 files and play them by the speed of the device.

I used mpg2buf (http://www.cycling74.com/forums/index.p ... goto=99842) to load an mp3 into the max msp buffer~ object. Unfortunatly i run into crashes when it comes to bigger files like mixes.
Same with loading a hugh wav instad of a mp3 file into buffer~.
With the Ms Pinky externals i had no problem to load hugh mp3 files.

What i want to do : Simply play a file by the speed of the signal.

For scratching: a region between 2 position in the file to scratch with a midi fader.
That would be for e.g.: 5000 milliseconds plus and minus from the current playing position in the file

Thank you !

I am using:

Max 5.3. Windows XP SP3. Laptop: dual core 2 ghz, 2 gb RAM
