video crossfader no longer works

not sure what happened, but my video crossfader doesn't work anymore. everything works fine, you can see the video's and all that....
but the crossfader is either a complete black screen all the way until one end or the other. anything in between far right/left is a completely black screen!
anyone know a fix to this???
