i just got done doing a couple parties at a conference in Washington. I had problems all night with sound glitches and dropouts which I'd never had before while practicing with my setup and DJing at home.
I was DJing with a fairly large sound system (3-way speakers). One of the main problems may have been the fact that I was playing on a wooden sprung basketball gym floor, which transmits and amplifies vibration pretty easily. From what I remember the dropouts were occurring on bass hits, which could have been related to either the noise itself, the bass concussions through the floor, or people jumping. I managed to fix the problem temporarily by cueing the records with the vinyl and then almost immediately switching off the vinyl control, but this obvously played havoc with ym mixing and messed up my scratch capabilities and so on.
Has anyone else ever had this problem, and figred out a way to eliminate it?
audio dropouts because i'm rocking too hard?
