A bug was found and fixed in the OSX Universal Binary versions of Maxi-Patch AO/AV. New builds have been uploaded.
If you are presently using any version of Maxi-Patch on an Intel Mac, then you need to dowload this build.
The bug that was fixed caused the CPU usage to skyrocket when a MP3 file had reached it's end but the file player was still in "play" mode. The problem relates to what is called "denormalized floating-point" arithmetic on the Intel chips.
Before you download the new build, don't forget to save the ".xml" file that is inside the folder with the Maxi-Patch application that you currently have. Just copy that ".xml" file into the folder with the new build and it should then restore all the settings you've made. The same goes for the "audio_folders" and "QT_folders" files.
Sorry for the inconvenience
