Delete the Preferences Folders

Unfortunately, the Maxi-Patch preferences files/folders can become corrupted and then cause crashing on startup. To solve the problem, you must delete the Maxi-Patch preferences folders which are found in:

YourUserName/Library/Preferences/

You should find a folder there called "Maxi-Patch_Prefs Folder". Delete it.
Also if you see anything like "Max..... Preference Folder" also delete that.
With those preferences folders deleted you should now be able to re-start the application.

delete preferences files and folders

On the PC, it's a similar solution for a similar problem. The Maxi-Patch preferences files need to be deleted when they become corrupted, which causes crashing on startup.

To find the preferences files go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\Cycling '74\

Delete everything in that folder, and try to re-start Maxi-Patch again.

If it's still crashing on startup, then you should probably delete the entire folder with the Maxi-Patch application and download a fresh folder from the Ms Pinky downloads page.
