problem in max

Post by geadsch » Mon Nov 23, 2009 4:39 pm

hello,

i just started to put ms. pinky on my turntables again as max for live looks very promising.

however, i have a problem when opening the new m4l device in live.
it's all there but the play/start/stop buttons. and there is no audio output...
when i open the maxi patch directly in max its the same.

however if i start the runtime version of the maxi patch it all works as always without a problem.

i am on max os x 10.5 and running the latest versions of max and live.
and copied all externals provided with the pinky download in the respective folders...

when opening the patch in max following text appears in the max window:

js: can't find file patcher_offset.js
js: can't find file Pinky_folderiter.js

Be sure to install the javascript files

In the folder you downloaded with the max/msp patches, search inside the "Maxi-Patch" patches folder to find a subfolder called "javascript". Make sure to copy that folder, which contains Ms Pinky's javascript files, to someplace within the max/msp search path, just as you apparently did with the externals.

ok, now everything works fine. thanks

anyway, i hoped that m4l will support the ability to control the playing position in a clip. but as it seems this is not included. but from my point of view that's where all the fun would start as then it would be possible to use pinky to trigger and control warped clips...

but for sure there is a lot of other stuff to try out now...

:)
