Hi,
i haven't got torq vynil when i've purchased conectiv.
so I'm trying to use m-audio "torq" software with pinky vynil.
But actually, it's really unstable, and simply impossible to do a correct set.
It skips everytime, and it doesn't even show waveforms.
I've heard that pinky gen.4 vynil is almost the same thing as torq vynil.
so maybe it's only my problem? I'm planning to buy that torq vynil (will be available at 7 march here in europe)...but before, i want to be sure that if i change the vynil, the problem will be solved.
did anyone tried torq with pinky vynil? (gen3 and 4)
my system:
apple ibook G4 os 10.3.9
m-audio conectiv
pinky vynil (gen3 & 4)
thanks!
Torq issue

Upgrade OS to Tiger, please!
First, Torq is not intended to run under OS 10.3.X. You should upgrade your OS to Tiger 10.4.8 in order to use Torq.
One other thing to keep in mind is that when using Ms Pinky vinyl with Torq, the selection number for the vinyl generation is off by (1). So if you're using 3rd Generation Ms Pinky vinyl, you actually need to select "Gen2" under the vinyl control preferences. Likewise, if using 4th Generation Ms Pinky vinyl, select "Gen3".

hey, thanks for the reply.
yes, i know that the gen number is 1 off.
but i didn't know that the torq is incompatible with 10.3.9
so, did you tried torq with all that proper set up?
you know, it's a kinda big deal to re-install the OS.
i want to be sure that it works properly if i upgrade to Tiger.
in case, i'm using a lot pinky pluggo and maxi patch, and i never had a such problem with conectiv set up...(well, sometimes small bugs, but you know that maxi patch and CPU issues...)
i precise one more time my problems with torq:
1. when upload a file, no information on running time, no waveform.
2. it skips every time i touch vynils or do a command.
3. it skips even when normal playback.
4. finally it "blocks" itself. i have to re-launch it.
thanks a lot!

OSX 10.4 (Tiger) is required for Torq
OSX 10.4 (Tiger) is absolutely required for Torq. If you're only running 10.3.9 then of course it won't work properly. Also, in the future, all Ms Pinky softs will not be supported on any OSX version prior to Tiger.

It's been already two years since Tiger was released. It's time to upgrade.
