Yeah, I've been using a tube line amplifier sometimes as a post-processor, helps a bit. It injects a bit of "grainyness" into the resulting sound which I like, and also smooths out the high frequencies a bit.
But what about switching decks between different playback pitch settings? I have dabbled with this by making an UI object that displays the pitch values of each deck, but so far haven't gotten it to work reliably in the transitions (sometimes the playback pitch goes haywire after switching).. And ev...
Hello all club members, I was thinking, since MsPinky system comes bundled with the SDK, would it be possible to create a new version of mptcfs_sa~ purely in Max 6 GEN? I think this would be a great idea - not only could we get MsPinky working sample-accurately, but we would also gain unlimited acce...
Are you saying that what I hoped for is now actually true?! That the new LiveAPI fixed the file_path attribute and one can now use MsPinky elegantly with any ableton audio clips without resorting to path hacks etc?!!! If so I am really happy! Guess I should go ahead and upgrade to Live 9 then :D Che...
Did you find what you were looking since last year? Well, so far I've had best experiences with the A800 UAD plugin.. does some pretty good "vinylesquing" IMHO! But what do you mean "there is no theory"? There must be a lot of academic data out there about nonlinearities in audio devices, especiall...
Yes, looking forward to the update.. Will not upgrade to Live 9 for a while anyway, but it would be great if MsPinky would keep on working in L9.. EDIT: (sorry a bit OT but) Going through the LiveAPI documentation for Max 6.1 -> found this in the release notes: > file_path Get > the location of the ...
Got this one to work! this one is actually pretty easy to implement with the live API. Now I still need to refine things, like add a pitch fader readout (need it to be able to "lock" back into a particular deck without audible jumps in the record).. having problems with max's scheduling again, surpr...
Yeah, I actually got around reading some documentation for a change :) You can accomplish this by setting your live.path to "this_device canonical_parent", which sets your 'track scope' to the same track your maxpatch is on... then proceed from there. I actually managed to make a "hotswapping TC inp...
Hi, was wondering if Ms Pinky supports any timecode signals output by the new(ish) Denon DN-SC3900 in hybrid midi mode? The manual says that the deck can output timecodes in 2kHz, 2.5kHz, 3kHz and 1.2kHz in hybrid midi mode.. TIA EDIT: Apparently, the 1.2kHz mode seems to work when you set timecode ...
if you just re-pitch it you should be fine. the real question is would you be able to use the time stamps on the record , which I'm pretty sure you would. I hooked up a traktor software playing the ms pinky cd code to a midi controller and the fed that (via. re-wire I think) into the ableton m4l pa...
I can use the buffer with the TC control? But of course! Intriguing stuff.. I take it that using a buffer for audio file playback is not going to give me decent scratching sound though? I really think there should be a separate Pinky-TC compatible audio file player object in the MsPinky package - it...
