I'm sure we'll all agree, nobody enjoys watching a laptop musician. Boring. As. Shit. Even if the music is mind-numbingly-friggin'-awesome, I still get bored if it's just a laptop performance, and that's because of a lack of visual stimuli. Actually, I won't agree with that. Here's a case in point....

Most dj's will also agree that beat matching is to dj'ing, as spelling is to writing a sonnet; just because you can use a dictionary, doesn't mean you're the next Shakespeare. Beat matching is step one of a long flight of stairs. Dan, I really like your analogy. I think it just about fits this topi...

Re: reply
That's an interesting perspective you have. I still think a DJ, or disc jockey, should posses the necessary skill set to perform his / her job. We're not in disagreement there. Like I said, I do think it is a basic skill a DJ should have. It's much the same as an accountant--they ought to be able t...

I understand where you're coming from and I'm not trying to start a war here. I do agree that beatmatching is an essential DJ skill. However, I guess my question would have to be, if beatmatching is an essential DJ skill and a computer can automatically do it better, how is it that your (or anyone e...

Ok I think there is one thing that's not working yet and that's calculating waveforms ;) You can't drag a folder on the window, it just doesn't react... But besides that... EXCELLENT :D Yep, that's exactly the behavior that I'm seeing as well. Also, I can't even get a single track to analyze comple...

Cycling74 just released (23 June 2006) a beta version of max/msp/jitter with universal-binary support! (Maxi-Patch is based on this)

In addition to looking forward to the new version (any estimate on that?) [sorry to be a PITA], I was also wondering if there were any plans on making any of the softwares handle AAC? I understand if the answer is no, but I was just wondering since about a third of my 10k track library is in AAC so ...

Re: master tempo?
I know if the master tempo is enabled on CDJs, that Final Scratch will not be able to read the control CD, does the same apply to Ms Pinky? First, sorry that this is so way OT... Hey DJ Kee, I recognize you from the Traktor forum. I just wanted to say "what's up" and say that I just got my Ms. Pink...

I just received my Ms. Pinky records today (the next business day after ordering I might add!) and I wanted to voice my support for the Universal Binary version as well. Luckily, I have an iBook around so I will hopefully be able to get up and running, but I'm very eager to run Ms. Pinky on my MacBo...
